Rushcliffe residents are being reminded of changes to bin collection dates over the Christmas and New Year period, with several collections brought forward or delayed due to the festive bank holidays.
Rushcliffe Borough Council has confirmed temporary changes affecting grey (general waste), blue (recycling), and glass bin collections around Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. All other collection dates outside this period will remain unchanged.
For households with a usual collection day of Thursday 25 December, grey and glass bins will instead be collected earlier on Tuesday 23 December, while blue recycling bins will be collected on Monday 22 December.
Residents whose bins are normally collected on Friday 26 December will see grey and glass bins collected later on Monday 29 December, with blue recycling bins collected on Wednesday 24 December.
Collections scheduled for Thursday 1 January will also be brought forward. Grey bins will be collected on Wednesday 31 December, blue recycling bins on Tuesday 30 December, and glass bins on Wednesday 31 December.
The council has advised residents to ensure bins are presented by 6am on the revised collection day, as crews may arrive earlier than usual.
Garden waste collections are paused over the festive period and will resume in January. Residents are advised to check their individual collection calendars for exact restart dates.
Rushcliffe Borough Council has said all other bin collection dates outside of these specified changes are unaffected.
