Christmas Tree Recycling scheme in aid of Nottinghamshire’s NHS

This coming New Year, go green and help a good cause by recycling your Christmas tree in aid of your local NHS hospitals.

Nottingham Hospitals Charity is once again running its popular Christmas tree recycling scheme, where people can have their real Christmas trees collected and recycled for a donation from just £10, which will go towards supporting staff and patients at Nottingham’s NHS hospitals.

People from most postcodes across Nottinghamshire can sign up for the scheme online now, with tree collections taking place from Saturday 7 January, 2023.

Louise Knight, Head of Fundraising at Nottingham Hospitals Charity, said: “We’re delighted that our popular Christmas tree recycling scheme is back for its third year. It’s a great way to get rid of your unwanted tree in a green and sustainable way, while helping to raise money for an important local cause at the same time.”

All trees are collected and taken for recycling by volunteers from local businesses and community groups, who are all giving their time for free to help raise money for Nottingham’s hospitals.

Money raised through the scheme will benefit patients and staff at the City Hospital, Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham Children’s Hospital and Ropewalk House Hearing Centre, by providing added extras such as specialist equipment, enhancements to ward environments, medical research and staff wellbeing programmes.
