City Council leader Jon Collins to step down in May

The leader of Nottingham  City Council, Cllr Jon Collins will step down in May.

In a short statement a spokesperson said:

‘We can confirm that in order to pursue other opportunities, Councillor Jon Collins will not be standing as a candidate in the forthcoming local elections and therefore on the 2nd May will cease to be Leader of Nottingham City Council.’

He will vacate the seat he has held since 1987 in St Ann’s.

Cllr Collins had led the council for 16 years.
