City police arrest four shoplifters in crackdown on retail crime

Police officers from Nottingham City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team have arrested four separate individuals in close succession on suspicion of various shop theft offences throughout the City Centre following proactive patrols.

All four have been identified as prolific, repeat offenders and remain in police custody at this time.

Police said:

‘The arrests relate to separate incidents throughout the course of this morning into early afternoon:

– One man has been arrested on suspicion of three shop thefts and possession of cannabis.
– One woman has been arrested on suspicion of one shop theft.
– Another man has been arrested on suspicion of one shop theft and assault-related offences.
– Another woman has been arrested on suspicion of one shop theft.

‘These arrests form part of the ongoing response to retail crime, focused on identifying repeat offenders and supporting businesses and staff within the City Centre.

‘Retail crime remains a priority for the City Centre and proactive patrols will continue to tackle retail crime.’
