Three boys have been arrested following an incident in Clifton.
The incident occurred on Nobel Road and was reported to the police at around 5:30 pm on Tuesday, 21 January.
A 14-year-old boy was subjected to a vicious attack in which he was forced to perform various humiliating tasks before having his head and eyebrows shaved.
He was also punched and kicked during the ordeal and had his phone smashed.
The incident was recorded and uploaded onto social media.
Officers have been working extremely hard to identify the suspects and have arrested three boys, aged 13, 14, and 16. They remain in police custody.
They were arrested on suspicion of robbery, criminal damage, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and possession of a bladed weapon in a public place.
Sergeant Ash Small, who covers the Clifton area, said: “This was a sustained and nasty assault on a teenage boy. There is absolutely no place in Clifton for this type of appalling behaviour, and we are determined to ensure those responsible are dealt with.
“This incident has been shared across social media and has understandably caused a great amount of distress across the local community.
“I hope the public will be reassured that we have now arrested three boys.
“We would also ask anyone who has any information about this incident or knows those responsible to please get in touch.”
