Detectives investigating the death of a man inside a Nottingham home have charged a suspect with his murder.
Emergency services were called to Eddleston Drive, Clifton, around 8.30pm on Tuesday (17 September) where they found a man with serious injuries.
Jonathan Dittia, aged 40, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later despite the best efforts of police officers and paramedics.
In a statement, Mr Dittia’s family said:
“Jonathan was a gentle giant who has left a giant hole in our hearts. Gone but not forgotten.”
A suspect was arrested at the scene.
Caine Lonsdale, aged 34, of Lerwick Close, Nottingham, has been charged with murder and will appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Saturday).
Detective Chief Inspector Ruby Burrow, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Mr Dittia’s family have been informed of this important development in our investigation.
“Specially trained officers will continue to support the family and the thoughts of the investigative team remain with them.
“I hope the wider community are comforted by our response which has seen this suspect arrested, charged and placed before the courts at the earliest opportunity.”
