Clifton stabbing: Man remains in hospital as investigation continues

Two boys, aged 16, were also taken to hospital for treatment for injuries but have since been discharged.

A man remains in hospital after a report of a stabbing in Clifton last night (Friday 10 January 2020).

Officers were called to the Sunninghill Drive area just before 7.25pm after a report that an 18-year-old man had been stabbed in the chest.

The man, who was found on Woodsford Grove, was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not currently believed to be life-threatening and he is currently in a stable condition.

Two boys, aged 16, were also taken to hospital for treatment for injuries but have since been discharged.

The 18-year-old victim and the two boys were swiftly arrested on suspicion of affray while our enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

All three remain in police custody.

Last night a cordon was set up on Woodsford Grove, at the junction with Sunninghill Park, but it has since been lifted.
