Drugs concealed under a gear stick were uncovered by police during a routine patrol.
Officers were patrolling in an unmarked vehicle during the early hours of Monday (10 November) in the Carrington area.
Acting on intelligence, they followed a car to Percival Road.
As the car appeared to circle the vicinity, officers activated their blue lights causing the driver to come to a stop on Haydn Road.
A search of the vehicle revealed deal bags containing cocaine hidden underneath the gear stick. Cash and mobile phones were also seized.
Cannabis was later found during a search of a Bestwood address.
A 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of intent to supply the Class A drug cocaine and possession with the intent to supply the Class B drug cannabis.
He has since been released under investigation.
Sergeant Richard Hallam, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This was a great bit of work by officers who were led by their intuition to a significant quantity of illegal drugs.
“Conducting regular patrols in unmarked vehicles allows us to blend in with regular traffic and observe criminal behaviour that might not occur if a marked police car was visible.”
