Community actors required for world premiere performance at the Framework Knitters Museum

As part of its new events programme, the Framework Knitters Museum in Ruddington is presenting the world premiere of Riot Act, a new play originally commissioned by Nottingham Playhouse, by renowned Nottingham writer Andy Barrett.
Riot Act is a raw, uncompromising play examining the lives of the framework knitters in Nottinghamshire and the rise and fall of the Luddite movement at the start of the nineteenth century.

Drawing immediate parallels with our contemporary world, Riot Act is told with a dark sense of humour that is unflinching in its language, themes, and world-setting. This is certainly not a cosy Victorian depiction of the framework knitters.

Riot Act will be presented at the Framework Knitters Museum in its Chapel Gallery space as a script-in-hand rehearsed reading on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 March.

The Framework Knitters Museum is currently looking for nine experienced community actors, aged 18+, to be part of this exciting presentation.

If you’re interested, then please visit the museum website at Vacancies – Framework Knitters Museum.
