Compton Acres: Date change for zebra crossing installation works

A ramped zebra crossing will be installed on Compton Acres, West Bridgford.

The stretch of road from its intersection with Acorn Bank and Rugby Road up to its junction with Belton Drive will be affected.

The work is scheduled to start on the evening of Saturday, 29 July 2023, from 7:00 PM and will continue until 11:00 PM.

The construction will resume on the following day, Sunday, 30 July 2023, during the same hours.

This major project is being undertaken by Via East Midlands, who are carrying out the work on behalf of the Nottinghamshire County Council.

The nature of the restriction during this period will be a complete prohibition of all traffic on the affected stretch of road.

The objective of this construction work is the establishment of a ramped zebra crossing, aimed at enhancing pedestrian safety in the area.

For those who rely on this route for their daily commute, an alternative route has been suggested. The detour will include Rugby Road, A60 Loughborough Road, Europa Way, and Landmere Lane, with the same route applicable in reverse.
