West Bridgford Neighbourhood Team for Compton Acres is aware that there have been a large number of thefts from motor vehicles over the past two weeks.
Officers are collating all of the locations, times and dates together along with collating all of the CCTV to try and identify the suspect.
Local officers will be on the local streets affected checking properties for further CCTV opportunities in the coming days.
Police said:
‘We are requesting if you have had your car entered regardless of if anything was stolen that you do make sure you log an incident on 101 so that we can piece everything together.
‘Please state that this will need to be emailed to PCSO 4781 TURNER who is currently investigating the crimes.
‘From looking at the evidence I have so far, this person is testing car door handles and if they are open they will then be searched – because of this I am asking that you check your car is locked before you go to bed to try and avoid entry.’
