Shop theft offences across Rushcliffe have fallen by 50 per cent since a targeted operation began in June, according to police.
The operation focused on Tesco Express in Compton Acres Shopping Precinct, which police identified as one of the most frequently targeted shops in the area.
Officers carried out regular patrols, identified repeat offenders and reviewed CCTV footage. Police said investigations and evidence gathered with affected stores had led to arrests, charges and convictions.
The force reported that the reduction covered the entire Rushcliffe policing division. Its statement did not provide offence totals or specify the comparison period used to calculate the fall.

Among those convicted was Hensley Mbugua, 29, of Gardendale Avenue, Clifton, who received a suspended prison sentence after pleading guilty to 29 offences.
Mbugua stole hundreds of pounds worth of goods from the Compton Acres Tesco Express during five thefts between 2 and 27 July. He also targeted retailers in Beeston during July and August, stealing goods worth thousands of pounds.
He was arrested in Beeston on 21 August after being spotted by a town centre officer and was subsequently charged with multiple offences.
At Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 22 August, he pleaded guilty to 29 offences and was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay hundreds of pounds in compensation.
Inspector Tim Cuthbert, neighbourhood policing inspector for Rushcliffe, said: “We know shop theft has a massive impact on our local retailers, including the significant impact on staff and their feelings of safety.”
He said officers would continue working to prevent thefts, pursue offenders and work with partners to address concerns raised by residents and businesses.
