Conservatives now largest group on Nottinghamshire County Council – but short of an overall majority

All results are now declared, the Conservatives have won 31 seats, fewer than the 34 needed for an overall majority on the 66-seat council. See final result 

Despite the Conservatives being the largest single party, no-one has managed to gain overall control of Nottinghamshire County Council, it has been confirmed.

Labour won 23 seats, with Ashfield Independents winning 5, the Mansfield Independent Forum winning 4, and one win each from the Liberal Democrats, Selston Parish Independents, and one other Independent.
