A consultation website has been launched on plans for three logistics and distribution facilities on land next to Newlink Business Park in Newark.
The proposal features a 40-acre wild parkland with mown paths through wildflower grasslands. The area is to the south of the development and also acts as a buffer between the buildings and Coddington village.
It includes:
– a 40-acre landscaped bio-diversified area forming a permanent buffer between the scheme and Coddington
– 900,000 sqft B8 big box across three buildings
– Over 1,000 direct jobs and many more supply chain and indirectly related jobs
– High-tech jobs requiring training
– Transferable skills
– £100m + into the local economy

Robert Twigg, Director at Lincoln-based development managers Simons Developments said: “We’ve been talking to the community and Coddington Parish Council for several months already but we’re pleased to be officially consulting and I’d encourage as many people as possible to have their say on the website.”
Joint developers Tritax Big Box REIT Plc and Simons believe that the high-tech facilities will create over 1000 jobs and many more indirect jobs in the supply chain.
“Logistics and distribution is now recognised as a key driver in the economy,” added Mr Twigg.” Long term investor Tritax is injecting a further £100 million into Newark on top of the funds already invested in one of the existing Currys units and the scheme currently under construction.”
