Nottinghamshire Police has allowed residents of Manvers Court back to their homes following a report of a suspicious package.
Officers were called just after 10.20 am today (24 February) to Manvers Court in Manvers Street, Nottingham.
A cordon was put in place and residents were evacuated as a precaution.
The army’s bomb disposal unit was called to the location and a controlled explosion was carried out, in line with the protocol on suspicious packages.
The package was found not to be capable of causing injury.
The cordon has been lifted and roads in the area have now reopened.
Chief Inspector Chris Sullivan, who oversaw the evacuation, said: “I would like to thank the community for their cooperation and understanding while we took the necessary safety precautions around the report made to us.
“The area is now returning to normal.”
