Whilst everyone is coming to terms with the possible impact of the Covid-19 virus, our thoughts turn to the most vulnerable in our local community – the homeless.
Government guidance for day centre providers is evolving daily as the Covid-19 situation changes nationally, consequently the Friary Drop-in on Musters Road will now be running a reduced service to the homeless people in our community, until further notice.
Whilst everyone needs someone to turn to when in crisis the homeless need so even more. The Drop-in needs to prioritize so will be open to help rough sleepers only, until further notice. Following guidelines we need to cease the collective gatherings that would usually take place.
We continue to be open at the following times:
Monday, Wednesday & Friday 08.30am – 1pm
Tuesdays & Thursdays – 8am – 11am
Saturday – Closed
Sunday – Closed
To be clear, the Friary will be available to support the rough sleepers and very vulnerable adults only – at the discretion of staff.
DONATIONS DEPOT TO BE CLOSED & FUNDRAISING SALES TO BE SUSPENDED TEMPORARILY
Many of you will understand our charity is run by paid staff but also a huge band of volunteers. Due to the impact of the situation and guidelines affecting some of our volunteers, we have decided to temporarily close the Friary’s donations depot at Ludlow Hill and to cease our Friary Fundraising Sales until further notice. We will receive food donations only at the Drop-in on Musters Road during our opening hours. As the situation develops we will provide further updates.
FUNDRAISING WILL BE IMPACTED
Please consider the Friary as this situation will impact on our ability to fundraise at events and therefore we encourage you to donate financially if you are able:
