Council appeal after ‘appalling’ vandalism at play park

Newark and Sherwood District Council is calling for witnesses to come forward after they responded to reports of vandalism at Sherwood Avenue Play Park over the weekend.

A spokesperson said:

‘We found graffiti in the multi-use games area, and sadly, some of the fitness equipment has been vandalised.

‘We are absolutely appalled that this has happened.

‘Our team is checking the CCTV cameras installed at the park and working with police colleagues to find the perpetrators. We will not tolerate this sort of behaviour in our parks.

‘Please share this post and report anything you know to the police on 101 or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or at crimestoppers-uk.org to help us find out who did this.’
