Pictures: See plans as council bids for £1.8 million lottery fund to improve Victoria Embankment Memorial Gardens

Councillor Sally Longford, Deputy Leader of Nottingham City Council asks residents to view the plans and complete the survey.

Cllr Longford said:

‘The importance of our parks has been underlined during the pandemic, so I’m really pleased that we are putting together a bid to the National Lottery Heritage Fund for a £1.8m project to restore and re-activate the Victoria Embankment Memorial Gardens.

‘We carried out some consultation in 2019 which has led to developing plans for the park which include works to the war memorial, fountains, pond, paths, undercroft, toilets, café and a big range of events, activities and work placements.

‘We are seeking further views and comments on the project and I would urge you to look at the helpful and interesting Story Map that describes the history of the site and outlines the project plans here, along with a link to the survey. The survey is open for another week, until Wed 17th March.’
