This week’s ruling will enable NUH to complete its work with the CCG so that it can commence the new five-year contract.

Tracy Taylor, NUH Chief Executive, said: “We have always seen the Treatment Centre tender as an exciting opportunity to develop innovative services for the benefit of our patients and the wider health and social care community through more integrated care.

“Our proposal set out how we will provide services that further improve patient experience, outcomes and value for money to the local community in the Treatment Centre. We are grateful to our clinical colleagues who contributed fulsomely to the development of our bid, and for sharing their innovative ideas that aim to transform services for patients in Nottingham and beyond so that we can deliver excellent health outcomes for the populations we serve.

“The new arrangement for the Treatment Centre will enable us to bring the clinical leadership community together to review how services can be better provided across primary, secondary and community care, as well as how we deliver services for patients that enable the provision of more effective end to end treatments across whole pathways.

“We have a strong track record of implementing successful service improvements that benefits our patients, listening to and acting on feedback from our patients and staff. Our bid described how we will build on this and transform how we deliver these services in the future, including through better use of technology, further improving quality for patients by joining up fragmented services and introducing more ‘one stop shop’ clinics.

“We are disappointed that there have been so many delays to the award of this contract and completion of the procurement process as a result of legal challenges. However, this legal ruling means we can now work proactively with our partners, including Circle, to ensure a smooth transition. We also look forward to welcoming new members of staff to NUH.

“We are committed to continuously improving the safety, quality and efficiency of our services. The Nottingham Treatment Centre is a fantastic healthcare facility and we will maximise its use to bring the best patient experience for Nottinghamshire patients.”
