Covid latest: 56 deaths in one week across Nottinghamshire – higher than ‘first wave’ peak in April

New figures released today show that 56 people have died with the virus in one week in the county.

The reported period is week to 4th November and is an increase on the 49 deaths reported for the previous week up to 28 October.

All three trusts are included in the figures – Nottingham University Hospitals, Sherwood Forest NHS Foundation Trust and Bassetlaw and Doncaster NHS Trust.

Dr Andy Haynes, Executive Lead, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System, said:

‘The numbers are still much higher than we experienced at the peak of the first wave and we continue to see a considerable amount of deaths due to Covid-19.

‘I would urge the public to continue to take the measures seriously so that we can reduce the infection rate within the community and start to lower the numbers of cases in our hospitals.’
