An update from Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG on vaccination progress.
Latest data shows that in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire we have administered 376,660 vaccinations (8 December – 7 March), with 36,627 in the last week.
A breakdown of the figures, alongside ONS population estimates, show vaccines have been administered to 95.2% of people aged 80+, 100% of people aged 75-79, 96.3% of people aged 70-74 and 89.3% of people aged 65-69 and 73.8% of 60-64 year olds.
Dr John Brewin, Chief Executive, Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Joint Senior Responsible Officer for Covid-19 Vaccine, said: “This week we opened up the local vaccination programme to those aged 55 and over. We are preparing to accelerate our programme in the next few weeks in order to include those receiving their second dose of the vaccine.
“I would urge all those who are eligible to book an appointment and make sure that your friends, family and those you care about are protected too. The next few weeks and months look optimistic as we hope to start returning to normal life but I would urge all those who have not yet taken up the offer of a vaccine to reconsider.
“The picture in our hospitals continues to improve and we have, for the first time since October, seen the number of beds in our hospital fall below the April 2020 peak. This is very positive for our hospital staff but the local NHS system is still under increased pressure so please choose the correct service for your needs and always use 111 online if you are unsure.”
