Traffic Officers mooved the cattle back to their home field.
Earlier today the M1 was partly closed because several cows had strayed on to the carriageway near to junction 17.
Highways England said in an update:
‘The cows have been moved back into their field and traffic has been released.’
‘All lanes have been reopened northbound and the cows secured into a new field. Thanks for your patience.’
