Cyclist dies after being found collapsed in the road in Nottinghamshire

Police have named a cyclist who died soon after being found collapsed in a Nottinghamshire road.

Officers were called to reports of a cyclist found collapsed in Nottinghamshire at 3.10pm yesterday (16 October).

The incident happened in Ashland Road West, Sutton-in-Ashfield.

The 61-year-old male, Steven Monk, of Sutton-in-Ashfield, sadly died a short time later.

Investigation officer Sophie Law, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Monk’s family at this very difficult time.

“We are working hard to investigate and understand the circumstances of this tragic incident.

“The family are being supported by specially trained officers at this time.

“We would ask for any witnesses or anyone with any dash camera footage or information to call us on 101 quoting incident 433 of 16 October 2021.”
