Cyclist left injured after being knocked off bike – driver fails to stop

A cyclist broke three ribs and shoulder blade after being knocked off his bike.

The incident happened at around 6.45 am on 19 October at the new roundabout on Hamilton Road in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

Officers are now appealing for information, witnesses and dashcam footage following a serious collision near to the new Amazon centre.

Police Constable Craig Turner-Moss is leading the investigation. He said: “This was horrible incident which saw the driver knock down the cyclist and not stop to help him.

“The cyclist was heading towards Mansfield  when he was hit by a silver/grey car, which failed to stop.

“He was seriously injured and has 3 broken ribs and broken shoulder blade.

“If anyone saw the incident or can help with our enquiries please call 101, quoting incident 187 of 22 October 2020.”
