The tree will be replaced with a new tree in the near future.
Residents have been contacting us today to ask about tree removal going on in Central Avenue, West Bridgford.
The council say that the discovery of a dead cherry tree meant that removal was necessary – and there is some work on safety grounds being carried out on a sycamore too.
An Rushcliffe Borough Council spokesperson said: “A single dead cherry tree was removed from the Croquet Lawn on Thursday 20 July and will be replaced in due course with a new tree.
“Works also took place in neighbouring Bridgford Park on branches on sycamore and other trees in line with required maintenance.”
