Recovery is at the scene but 60-minute delays are reported.
National Highways said at 1:43pm:
‘Recovery is now in attendance, and 1 lane (of 3) remains closed on the M1 northbound in Leicestershire between J23 (Loughborough) and J23A (A42).
There’s a 60 minute delay on approach, with 8 miles of congestion. Please allow extra journey time.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said:
‘We have just attended an incident on the M1 Northbound between junction 23 and 23a with Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service Loughborough Station
‘Several vehicles were involved fortunately all drivers and passengers were wearing seatbelts.
‘Remember to always wear yours. If you were involved in a crash, you’re twice as likely to die if you don’t wear a seat belt, don’t take that chance.’
