Delivery driver ‘dragged alongside van’ after thieves steal it during delivery round

Detectives have appealed for witnesses after a man was dragged alongside a moving van during a theft.

Emergency services were called to Derby Road, Bramcote, after a man’s van was stolen while he tried to deliver a parcel.

When the thief started driving off in the white Peugeot van, the owner tried to stop the moving vehicle but was instead dragged along with it.

The man suffered injuries not believed to be life-altering after falling to the ground during the incident at around 1.45pm on Wednesday (26 October).

Police are now appealing for anyone who saw the incident happen, or has dash-cam footage filmed on Derby Road to come forward.

“Anyone with information should contact the police on 101, quoting incident 338 of 26 October 2022, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
