Derailed train at Sheffield causing delays to services


A low-speed derailment at Sheffield is causing disruption to journeys.

EMT said:

‘As a result of this, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 40 minutes, revised or diverted where possible.

‘This is expected until 14:45.

Additional Information:

A train derailing within Sheffield station means multiple lines are blocked within the station.

Network Rail staff are en route to resolve the issue.

You may use your tickets on East Midlands Trains between Sheffield and Derby.

Alternative travel advice for East Midlands Trains customers:

You may use your tickets on CrossCountry and Northern services between Sheffield and Derby, you may also use TransPennine Express services via any reasonable route.

Trains between Liverpool Lime Street and Norwich will be diverted via Dore, not calling at Sheffield. Customers wishing to go to Sheffield will need to change at Stockport or Chesterfield.

Trains between London St Pancras International and Sheffield will terminate at Derby. You can take a CrossCountry service to Sheffield.’
