There’s a host of great discounts at wonderful Rushcliffe businesses simply for lowering your carbon footprint by registering for the Green Rewards scheme.
Mayor of Rushcliffe Cllr Sue Mallender was among the first to collect a discount as she reached her first 10,000 points on the platform in just a matter of weeks, then selecting local zero waste store The Good Weigh in her ward in Lady Bay to redeem a 10% off voucher.
Cllr Mallender accumulated the points quickly and simply just by logging carbon avoidance actions such as reducing, reusing and recycling, using less electricity and walking and cycling to work and selecting a participating outlet from the list at www.rushcliffe.gov.uk/greenrewards.
The Mayor is encouraging all Rushcliffe residents to search for ‘Notts; Green Rewards’ and download the free app or register at https://notts.greenrewards.co.uk and start logging points today!
She said: “It’s so easy to download and use the Green Rewards app, which allows you to log points for all your carbon saving activities, it didn’t take me long at all to earn a discount.
“Once you’ve logged enough points you are awarded a voucher and then you choose which of the participating outlets you can redeem it at and there are lots of brilliant local independent businesses who have kindly offered their support to the scheme.
“I would urge everyone to download the app and start logging points for activities that can motivate them even further to lower their carbon footprint – and be rewarded at the same time!”
Responsible business owners across Rushcliffe have joined Green Rewards so they can play their part in encouraging carbon clever residents to think about carbon avoidance and then congratulating them on their lower footprints when the vouchers are redeemed in-store.
Owner of The Good Weigh Kate Cox said: “The Green Rewards scheme aligns perfectly with our values as a business, so it was a no-brainer for us to sign up.
“It was great to see Cllr Mallender not only as a regular customer but also the first customer to spend the 10% voucher with us. I’m sure we’ll see many more!”
