Officers investigating an incident where money went missing at a cashpoint appeal to person to do the right thing and hand it in.
Officers were notified when someone was left empty-handed after withdrawing cash from the machine in Bestwood.
The user remembered to collect their bank card from the machine, outside Co-op in Arnold Road, but forgot to pick up the £200 they’d withdrawn.
After realising their mistake and going back to the machine, the cash was nowhere to be seen, with the cashpoint user calling the police to report a theft.
The incident happened around 1.45pm on 11 January.
Police have been investigating the reported theft since then and can now release images of someone they’d like to speak to about what happened.
PC Chris Clayton, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“We believe the person pictured could really assist us with our inquiries and help us establish what happened to the missing cash.
“As such, if they see this appeal we’d ask them to contact us, while anyone who recognises this man is urged to let us know.
“It does appear that someone took advantage of the victim’s unfortunate mistake and stole the cash before they realised.
“To whoever this was, we’d appeal for you to do the right thing and hand the cash in.”
Anyone who has any information can report it to the police on 101, quoting incident 290 of 11 January 2025.
