Dog hit by car and left at roadside on Ambleside in Gamston

Police in West Bridgford are appealing for information after a dog was struck by a car and left at the side of the road.

The Spaniel sustained significant injuries on Ambleside, Gamston, at about 1pm on Friday 5 June.

It is believed that the driver then placed the dog by the side of the road before driving away from the scene.

Officers are investigating and would like to speak to anyone who saw or heard what happened.

PC Cameron Toone, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“This was a distressing incident for the dog and its owner, who was understandably frantic with worry after the animal ran away before the incident.

“Failing to stop and report an incident of this nature is a criminal offence and we are keen to catch up with the driver.

“Anyone with additional information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 26000328621.”
