Doorbell camera image released after man seen ‘trying car doors’

Police are appealing for help following a number of attempted car break-ins on a street. Officers were called to Bladon Close, Mapperley, Nottingham, after reports of a man walking along the street trying car door handles.

 

They have been carrying out local enquiries and are now in a position to release this image of a man they want to speak to.

The image is taken from doorbell camera footage following the incident, which took place around 3.10 am on 23 October 2024.

 

The man is white and was wearing an orange jacket, black hat, and all dark clothing. He was also carrying a plastic bag for life in his left hand.

Police Constable Annaleise Howell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Incidents of this nature can be concerning for residents who live in the neighbourhood targeted.

“We are working hard to trace the offender and are asking for the public’s help.

“We understand the picture is not clear, but he was wearing quite distinctive clothing. If you know who this man is, please get in touch.

“Likewise, if you have any other relevant information or footage which could help with our investigation, contact officers.”
