The driver was arrested for other motoring offences too.
Police said:
‘This afternoon ( Friday 11 November ) a male suspected to be driving whilst under the influence of alcohol was stopped and arrested by police on Manor Road in Keyworth.
‘Thanks to information received from members of the public, the male was seen driving by police.
‘He was subsequently arrested after providing a sample of breath at the roadside of almost twice the drink drive limit.
‘The male was also arrested for driving without insurance and for driving otherwise in accordance with a licence.
‘The fatal four are the most common causes of road accidents and yet, very easy to avoid. Stay within the speed limit, don’t use your mobile phone, always wear a seatbelt and never drive if you plan to drink alcohol.’
