Once the lift is in progress, if you want to see the bridge lift in, the easiest viewing point will be on the north side of the river.

Note the lift could take up to five hours of very slow progress.

Please note:
- Parking is available at Colwick park and ride, a short walk away. Please do not park on the residential streets around Trent Basin – these are subject to parking permits
- You can also , with NCTs 43, 44 and 45 taking you from the city centre to a short walk away from Trent Basin
- The green areas on the maps below show the best viewing spots
- There will be no access to the area in front of the flats at Trent Basin
- A river closure is in effect from Bridge 13 to Bridge 13a on the river Trent from 8am Sunday 9 November until 4pm Sunday 16 November, or until the bridge lift has been completed
- Balfour Beatty will be flying a drone to capture footage of the lift. We request that other people do not fly drones near the crane or bridge for safety reasons

Once the bridge is lifted into place over the river, further work will take place before the bridge can be used, ramps, steps and hard and soft landscaping will need to be completed including paving, planting and lighting. The bridge is expected to open in Spring 2026.
