A suspected drug dealer was arrested after police spotted an e-scooter being ridden illegally.
Officers pulled the rider over in Hawkstead Road, Bestwood, shortly before 5pm yesterday (Friday) with the intention of issuing some routine guidance.
However, after noticing a strong smell of cannabis they began a search and recovered several bags of cannabis and a large amount of cash.
A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a class B drug with intent to supply, driving without insurance, resisting arrest and driving without a licence.
After a more detailed search in custody he was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply.
He remains in police custody.
Sergeant Sharonjit Powar, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a great bit of work by officers who followed their nose and turned a routine traffic stop into a significant drugs arrest.
“Drug related crime is a blight on our communities and we will continue to do all we can to disrupt the supply of these illegal substances.”
