Drug dealer jailed after Wollaton raid reveals large amount of cash and drugs

A drug dealer has been jailed after police officers found more than a kilogram of cannabis, five mobile phones, and £11,500 in cash in his flat.

Kyel Anderson, aged 23, was arrested on 15 September this year when a search warrant was executed at his home in Nidderdale Close, Wollaton. Inside, officers found about 1.4 kilograms of cannabis in a bag and a large suitcase.

In addition to the cash and mobile phones, they also found equipment for vacuum packing and a set of scales. Later analysis of the mobile phones revealed significant evidence of the trade in illegal drugs.

Anderson, who has previous convictions for drug dealing, gave a no-comment interview but later pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis with intent to supply and acquiring criminal property.

Appearing at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday, 13 December, he was jailed for two years.

PC Grace Jolly, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“Anderson was clearly not expecting a visit from us that day, and was found with a very large amount of evidence inside his flat.

“He was clearly involved in the sale of significant quantities of cannabis and had little option but to plead guilty to this offending.

“I am pleased he has now been jailed and hope this case also serves as a warning to others involved in similar offending.”
