A pair of suspected drug dealers were arrested after police spotted two cars speeding through Nottingham city centre.
Officers on patrol in Maid Marian Way around 11.40pm on Wednesday (3 September) observed the vehicles and followed one onto Greyfriar Gate and Waterway Street West.
Officers activated their blue lights but the car did not stop until the police vehicle pulled alongside and signalled for it to pull over.
While talking to the two men inside the car and issuing a notice for antisocial driving, officers noticed a strong smell of cannabis.
Searches were carried out of both occupants and officers found bags containing cannabis and wraps of suspected cocaine as well as cash.
A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs and another man, also 22, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug.
Inquiries will continue into the other vehicle seen racing.
Inspector Dan Buckle, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Driving of this nature will always attract our attention and the officers involved showed great determination to pull this vehicle over.
“Following a car stop like this officers will also be on the look out for any further criminality and these searches have led to the seizure of Class A and Class B drugs.
“We know arrests of this nature can disrupt the drugs trade and it is always a good result when we can take these substances off the streets.”
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with any information should call police on 101, quoting incident 751 of 3 September 2025, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
