Drugs and cash recovered after police force car to stop near QMC

A man has been arrested in Nottingham after police brought a car to a forced stop.

Officers from Nottinghamshire Police were passed information about a suspected disqualified driver travelling into the county at around 7.05 pm yesterday (5 July).

A car was subsequently stopped at the Derby Road QMC roundabout in Nottingham using the box tactic, where a vehicle is surrounded by police cars and is forced to stop because it is boxed in.

Drugs and cash were subsequently recovered.

Detective Inspector Ian Smith of Nottinghamshire Police said: “We have specialised officers who are highly trained to use tactics like this to bring vehicles to a stop when needed.
