Drugs and a knife were recovered after police arrested a motorcycle rider in Radford.

Officers were called to Radford Road following reports of a shop theft taking place after 3.20am on Thursday (22 January).

Once they arrived at the scene, three Sur-Ron motorcycle riders were located, who failed to stop after being instructed to do so.

Jahlil Kumar, 18, has been charged with possession of a knife in a public place.

Kumar, of Barthorpe Avenue, Moortown, Leeds, is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 6 February.

He’s also been bailed on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and driving without insurance and without a licence.

Inquiries to trace other suspects remain ongoing.

Detective Chief Inspector Claire Gould, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“Getting drugs and weapons off the streets is a top priority, and we’re pleased to have seized both in this case.

“We are still in the process of investigating these incidents, so we’d ask anyone that has any information to call the police on 101, quoting incident number 44 of 22 January.”
