A man has been charged after police uncovered class B drugs when they stopped a car for a traffic offence.

Officers from the city centre Operation Reacher team pulled over a Ford Focus after observing it going through a red light in Forest Road West, Radford, shortly before 5.30pm on 30 January.

After searching the car officers found quantities of cannabis, cash and two knives.

Leon Brewster, of Stonechat Drive, Birmingham, has been charged with possession of a class B drug and possession of a knife in a public place.

The 36-year-old has been released on bail and is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 17 February.
