Drugs den discovered in Wollaton after arrest

Police teams seized Class A drugs, bundles of cash and drug dealing equipment when they searched a home during a successful arrest.

Officers from the City South Operation Reacher team attended an address in Andover Close, Wollaton, on Wednesday (7 February) around 9.15am.

They were investigating an earlier incident when a suspect was spotted in a known drugs hotspot in Sneinton Boulevard interacting with suspected drug users.

Investigations led to this week’s search when evidence of drug dealing was discovered throughout the Andover Close address.

Officers found quantities of suspected crack cocaine, cannabis, deal bags and a ‘burner’ style mobile phone.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A and Class B drugs, possession with intent to supply a Class A drug and possession of a Class B drug.

Sergeant Tim Register, of the City South Operation Reacher team, said:

“Class A drugs ruin lives across our neighbourhoods so it is always good news when we can disrupt this illegal trade.

“Our search of this property has resulted in us taking drugs out of circulation and they will now be destroyed.

“It is also pleasing to make an important arrest following a lengthy investigation into the earlier incident.

“Our inquiries remain ongoing and anyone with any information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 22000608729, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
