Suspects attempted to throw their cannabis stash out of an upstairs window as officers smashed through the front door of their property during an early morning raid.
Officers executed a warrant at 8.18 am on Monday 17 April in Blundell Close in St Ann’s over intelligence that the house was being used to deal drugs.
Police used an electric saw to tear through the front door of the property.
As officers entered, a black pot containing several bags of cannabis were thrown out of the upstairs window.
An extensive search of the property then took place where a quantity of cannabis, cash, mobile phones, and scales were seized.
PC Karl Browne said: “We know the impact that drug dealing has on the community of St Ann’s, and we will continue to execute warrants and disrupt this activity. Drug dealing brings with it anti-social behaviour and violence and we want to ensure the community of St Ann’s is free from this type of behaviour.
“Yesterday was a good result for officers, and now more work is being done to determine the scale of this operation. I would encourage the community to contact us if you have any concerns about drug dealing on your streets and as yesterday’s warrant proves, we will act upon it.”
