Eames & Robinson Return For Derby Day at The Bay

Billy Robinson

Lock Morgan Eames and fullback Billy Robinson both make welcome returns to Nottingham Rugby’s starting line-up, as they host local rivals Rotherham Titans at The Bay this Sunday, in Round 10 of the Greene King IPA Championship (3pm kick-off).

Neither player has featured since September, with Eames picking up an injury Nottingham’s trip to Yorkshire Carnegie, whilst Robinson’s last appearance came at home to London Irish, where he was forced to leave the game early, after picking up a knock.

Elsewhere Kieran Davies is back in the starting XV at loosehead, after recovering from illness. TJ Harris comes in to replace Jimmy Stevens at hooker, and the ever-present Tom Heard also claims a starting place at tighthead, with Ben Hooper selected on the bench.

Matt Everard also resumes his role as captain, coming in for the absent Jordan Coghlan.

The Green and Whites will be looking to make it five straight wins in league and cup, after hitting a good run of form, securing recent victories over the Leinster ‘A’, Richmond, Bedford Blues and Ealing Trailfinders. However, they will face formidable opposition in the form of the Titans, who will be looking to build on last weekend’s home win over Jersey Reds.

The Titans came out on top in both meetings between the two teams last season, a solitary Conor Carey try couldn’t prevent a 17-11 home defeat for the Green and Whites last November, whilst back in March, a brace of tries from Pila Iongi wasn’t enough at Clifton Lane, with Nottingham losing 22-12.
