East Leake residents warned to be vigilant after spate of thefts overnight

Officers are now appealing to anyone with any information to come forward to help with their enquiries.

Nottinghamshire Police have stepped up patrols and is urging the local community to remain vigilant after a series of thefts overnight.

A house and two outbuildings were broken into, which saw a set of car keys and vehicle stolen, a caravan stolen and number of sheds being broken into.

Officers are now appealing to anyone with any information to come forward to help with their enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Charlotte Henson is leading the investigation. She said: “Following three separate incidents in a short space of time, we are asking the East Leake community to be vigilant and ensure that their sheds and vehicles are secure.

“We’ve stepped up patrols following these thefts and we’re pursuing a number of lines of enquiry as we continue with our investigations.

“I want to reassure people that our officers are working hard to find those responsible and bring them to justice.

“The first saw a VW Golf stolen from a home in Leivers Close at around 2am.

“Meanwhile there was also a report of a caravan being stolen and a number items being taken from outbuildings including storage containers at a farm in Costock Road.

“The final incident in Costock Road saw two sheds being opened, although it appears nothing was taken other than electrical equipment.

“We would be keen to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area in the early hours of this morning.

“We would also be keen to speak to anyone local that may have CCTV footage.”

“We are now appealing for witnesses and information following the incidents. If you believe you can help please call 101, quoting incident 36 (Leivers Close), incident 104 (stolen caravan in Costock Road) and incident 143 (stolen electrical equipment in Costock Road).”
