Jet2 announces the launch of flights and holidays to Tunisia from East Midlands Airport for Summer 2027.
The airline will operate weekly Saturday services to the North African hotspot from 1st May to 30th October 2027.
Today’s announcement comes in response to demand from customers and independent travel agents across the region and means they have plenty of choice when it comes to taking off to a sun-soaked destination that offers culture, cuisine, history, beaches and fantastic value for money.
The exciting new addition means that customers travelling to Tunisia with Jet2holidays can now choose from a range of 3 to 5-star hotels situated in the resorts of Port El Kantaoui, Skanes, Mahdia, Sousse, Yasmine Hammamet and Hammamet.
From Hammamet’s magical medina to Sousse’s palm-lined ramparts, the country brims with colour and character. Holidaymakers can wander Roman amphitheatres, sip mint tea beside blue-and-white cliffside houses, or watch fishermen haul in the day’s catch along Mahdia’s quiet coast. Out in the south, salt flats shimmer like glass, and desert villages appear out of nowhere. As well as offering golden beaches, Tunisia offers more than just a beach break, as it is a place where every corner has a story.
As well as experiencing the delights of Tunisia, customers can also choose award-winning holidays and flights, whether that is a package holiday with Jet2holidays or a leisure flight with Jet2.com. Each of the brands has been recognised as a Which? Recommended Provider for providing industry-leading levels of customer service and customer experience.
Today’s announcement means that Jet2 will operate to 44 destinations in Summer 27 from East Midlands Airport, with four new destinations: Tunisia, Hurghada, Paris and Sharm el Sheikh.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2, said: “We are thrilled to be giving customers and independent travel agents even more choice from East Midlands Airport thanks to the launch of Tunisia as our latest new addition. With year-round sunshine, rich culture and fantastic weather, Tunisia has something for everyone and we know how immensely popular it will be.”
He added: “This latest expansion demonstrates the strength of our growing business, and it comes on the back of customers and independent travel agents choosing to travel with us time and time again. Our award-winning proposition clearly continues to delight holidaymakers, and we look forward to welcoming even more customers onboard thanks to the launch of this new destination, taking the number of destinations we have on sale from East Midlands Airport in Summer 27 to 44.”
Steve Griffiths, Managing Director of East Midlands Airport, said: “We’re always keen to expand our network of destinations to meet customers’ expectations, so it’s great to be able to offer this new route to Tunisia with Jet2, which shows the airline’s confidence in East Midlands and adds to the broad range of options they offer from here.
“North Africa is growing in popularity as a holiday option, with fantastic weather, culture, food and experiences for enjoyable and memorable trips. We will make sure everyone is chilled out and in the holiday mood while they’re with us at East Midlands Airport.”
