East Midlands Airport is increasing its Rapid Drop Off charge from £5 for 15 minutes to £8 for ten minutes from 3pm on Tuesday 29 September.
The charge has remained at £5 for the past five years. The airport said the increase reflects inflationary pressures and the cost of ongoing investment.
The Rapid Drop Off area is located close to the check-in hall.
Drivers who do not want to pay the charge can use a long-stay car park, where parking is free for up to one hour. The car park is around a ten-minute walk from the terminal.
The Rapid Drop Off area was changed last year, with a new layout and barrierless, cashless payment system introduced. Payments can be made online, by phone or through an AutoPay account.

Blue badge holders can continue to use designated drop-off bays in the Short Stay 1 car park free of charge.
The airport said drop-off charges are also used to manage congestion and discourage some journeys by private car.
Revenue from parking and other charges contributes towards airport investment. East Midlands Airport is currently part-way through a £120 million programme covering security, terminal facilities and airfield infrastructure.
The airport also operates a sustainable transport fund supporting local bus services serving the airport. Bus services operate from Nottingham, Derby, Leicester and surrounding areas, with stops close to the terminal.
