Edwalton garden centre staff win national awards

Another colleague – Rachel Thornally – was also recognised with a Long-Service award for her impressive 32-year career at Notcutts.


Maxine Cumberland, Restaurant Supervisor at Notcutts Wheatcroft Garden Centre in Edwalton, is celebrating after receiving a special ‘Frontline Hero’ award at Notcutts national conference.

Hosted on March 20 in Maldon, Essex, the annual event brought together colleagues from Notcutts’ 18 garden centres nationwide, to recognise individual and business achievements over the past 12 months.

Maxine was presented with the ‘Frontline Hero’ award for demonstrating excellence and consistently going the extra mile to help customers and the team. She regularly receives positive feedback from customers and was particularly praised for her impressive work ethic. Maxine was nominated by colleagues she works closest with.


Another colleague – Rachel Thornally – was also recognised with a Long-Service award for her impressive 32-year career at Notcutts.


Jon Wilson, General Manager at Notcutts Wheatcroft, said: “Congratulations to our ‘Frontline Hero’ Maxine. We are delighted to see her recognised for her hard work and dedication to offer the best experience for customers at Notcutts. We’re also delighted to see Rachel receive a well-deserved long-service award for her incredible career at Notcutts.”

Established in 1897, Notcutts is a family-owned garden centre group that now employs 1,300 people at 18 garden centres across the country.
