Lex Leisure, who operates leisure sites on behalf of Rushcliffe Borough Council has seen a rise in membership and an increase in usage at the centre over the last 12 months.
The Golf Centre is home to a nine-hole main course and a nine-hole par 3 course, a driving range and an indoor golf simulator.
A newly renovated clubhouse also offers a relaxing space for golfers to unwind after a round of golf. They offer a variety of hot and cold refreshments and food options.
Last year, the golf centre introduced zero-emissions vehicles to showcase another green initiative at the site and how they are making more efforts to become carbon clever.
The swap from petrol to electric buggies is reducing noise and pollution, resulting in a cleaner and healthier golf course for all golfers and visitors, cancelling out a carbon footprint of over 5,000 miles from the previous vehicles.
The Council’s Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Communities and Climate Change Cllr Abby Brennan joined Lex Leisure Assistant Regional Director Justin Palfrey and Centre Manager Craig Saxelby at the site to explore the popular golf course.
Cllr Brennan said: “I enjoyed looking around Edwalton Golf Centre and seeing the range of fantastic community facilities here at the site.
“It’s great to see the centre has seen an influx in membership and usage over the past year. They have a great par 3 course and the greens are well-kept and always in a good condition for golfers.
“The golf centre caters for all users whether you’re a newcomer, occasional or established golfer!
“They’ve recently invested in new electric buggies too which is a great way to be more carbon clever and aligns with our environmental priorities.”
Justin added: “We’re at the heart of the community and everyone is welcome at Edwalton Golf Centre.
“We’re delighted to see a huge increase in membership and bookings in recent years and our range of top facilities and friendly atmosphere has contributed to this.
“Golfers can book a round of golf quickly and efficiently using our online booking system on our website and we offer free parking facilities.
“After a game of golf, why not take advantage of the excellent clubhouse to grab a refreshing drink or bite to eat.
“So why not pop in and meet Craig and the team who are always happy to help with any queries.
“We pride ourselves on making a positive contribution to the Rushcliffe community by making people feel happier and healthier, both mentally and physically.”
