Edwalton Golf Club raises £1,055 for military rehabilitation charity

Edwalton Golf Club has raised £1,055 for a charity supporting serving military personnel undergoing rehabilitation.

The money was raised at the club’s recent Open Day tournament and was presented to George Dent from the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) Benevolent Fund.

Past Captain Craig Richardson and Vice Captain Leslie Lam presented the cheque, with the Mayor of Rushcliffe, Councillor Richard Butler, attending the presentation.

Mr Richardson thanked Club Captain Darren Hoy, who led the fundraising effort, everyone who took part in the tournament, LoyalTee Golf, which manages Edwalton Golf Centre, and Rushcliffe Borough Council, which owns the course, for their support.

The DMRC Benevolent Fund supports serving military personnel receiving rehabilitation, helping to fund activities, equipment and initiatives aimed at their occupational and social rehabilitation where these cannot be provided through other means.

Mr Dent explained that the fund helps patients and staff access additional resources designed to support rehabilitation and prepare patients for the challenges they may face following treatment.

Edwalton Golf Centre, off Wellin Lane, is owned by Rushcliffe Borough Council and managed on its behalf by LoyalTee Golf.
