Councillor Jonathan Wheeler, West Bridgford South, comments on the recent plans for two drive-thrus and other facilities at Edwalton.

County Councillor Jonathan Wheeler for West Bridgford South believes the impact on Landemere Lane and surrounding roads would not be able to cope with the new development.

‘In my view the extra traffic generated with the Drive Throughs is too much for Landmere Lane and the A52 and Melton Road to cope with. With the Aldi Supermarket, Care Home and a potential development on the Waitrose Land, not to mention the Garden Centre. I hope this is carefully looked at by the Borough Council together with impact on noise of course and if this is needed in the area. I do think the retail units are needed and welcome those.’
